Prairie Wolf Solar Project
200 MW
The Prairie Wolf Solar Project is a 200 megawatt (MW) solar project in Coles County, Illinois in the MISO market. Prairie Wolf has a Virtual Power Purchase Agreement (VPPA) with Cargill, marking the second renewable energy VPPA contracted between Cargill and National Grid Renewables. The project is producing several benefits to the local community, including new tax revenue and charitable giving through an education fund, along with positively impacting the environment by offsetting approximately 5.8 million metric tons of carbon dioxide emissions over the project’s lifespan.
