Apple River Solar Project
The Apple River Solar Project is a 100 megawatt (MW) solar development located in Polk County, Wisconsin. Apple River covers approximately 1,000 acres and is connected to the Apple River Substation. The project is anticipated to positively impact the environment by using a variety of sustainable development practices, as well as the local economy by producing tax revenue, jobs, and contributions through an education fund. Apple River is estimated to offset approximately 145,000 metric tons of carbon dioxide emissions annually during operations – the equivalent of taken an estimated 31,000 cars off the road every year.
Apple River Solar will provide energy and capacity for the transmission network and will connect to the electric grid at the Apple River Substation. Apple River will provide a cost effective alternative to fossil fuels. Apple River’s project footprint will consist of approximately 1,000 acres signed under agreement and has ideal conditions for solar energy generation.
