At National Grid Renewables, sustainability isn’t just a goal – it’s a core value.
One of the primary reasons that National Grid Renewables leads the industry in meeting environmental, sustainability, and governance goals, is that our leadership recognized early on that we should stand for something more than profitability. Since then, we have built an organization that is dedicated to making sure everyone benefits in the transition to a clean energy future — that nobody is left behind.
Our pledge includes:
- Leaving the world a better place than when we found it.
- Recycling and repurposing, as well as preserving and conserving wherever possible.
- Operating projects that contribute to offsetting carbon dioxide emissions and water usage.
National Grid Renewables Donates Benches Made from Wind Turbine Blades
In this blog by Matt Woolery, wind energy developer, learn how National Grid Renewables repurposed wind turbine blades into benches for Bloomfield and Crofton schools in Nebraska, the site of the North Fork Wind Farm.
When presenting the benches to the schools, students were treated to a presentation highlighting career opportunities available in wind energy. Bloomfield Superintendent Jeff Messersmith praised National Grid Renewables saying, “Thank you once again for your support and commitment to sustainability.”
The North Fork Wind Farm is projected to deliver $230 million in direct economic benefits for the community, $25 million of which will benefit local schools through new tax revenue.
