Sherco Solar Project
About the Project
The Sherco Solar Project will be developed jointly by National Grid Renewables and Xcel Energy. National Grid Renewables will secure permits and perform development activities, and Xcel Energy will construct, own and operate the project.
The Sherco Solar Project will connect to the existing transmission connection located at the Sherco Power Plant.
The joint partnership will leverage the expertise of National Grid Renewables during the development and permitting of the project and will allow Xcel Energy to maximize energy production from solar resources to deliver clean, renewable electricity to Xcel Energy customers. The project will play an important role in Xcel Energy’s vision to reduce carbon emissions 80% by 2030 and deliver 100% carbon-free electricity by 2050. National Grid Renewables has successfully developed renewable energy projects throughout North America – and together with Xcel Energy, we look forward to presenting this project to you and other community stakeholders.
